As the world marches into the 21st century, India, at the forefront of the developing world needs an increasing lot of intelligent, astute, hardworking and technically proficient minds. Barak Valley Engineering College, Karimganj happens to be the fifth State Government Engineering College, was set up in the year 2017 for imparting and uplifting the technological mindset of students of Assam. The institute was set up with a motto of enhancing the academic as well as the holistic development of student fraternity. Barak Valley Engineering College aims to provide the ambience and culture for newer ideas to flourish and make the student acquaint with the modern cutting edge technology so that they transform into leaders of tomorrow.
The endeavor of the teaching fraternity has always been overall development of the students so that innovative thinking can be embedded in the minds of young students. Furthermore, this Institute has emphasized on Industry Academia Collaboration and as a result of which we have Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Ziroh Labs, C-DAC, MSME to name a few where students can be exposed to the latest trends and techniques prevailing in industry along with curriculum. The institute tasted quite a success in terms of Placement Scenario as we had a large number of Multi-National Companies and Tech Giants recruiting our students along with some of the best startups of India. A few names to be spelt out are TCS, Cognizant, Mind tree, ATLAN along with many others. The highest package recorded till date is 10 LPA with an average package ranging from 3.6 LPA to 4.2 LPA every year.
Today the global employment market has changed from what it was even a decade ago. The organization now looks for multi skilled persons where along with technical skills the aptitude and soft skills are also being tested. Companies now-a-days provide adequate work related training to their employees themselves, but they require the recruit to be competent and able enough to imbibe that training quickly and effectively. This is why aptitude testing has become an inherent part of all recruitment processes and hence aptitude skills are imperative for the career. Our institute holds special mentoring sessions to guide the students for facing interviews, sharpening their aptitude and soft techniques in collaboration with T.I.M.E and many other platforms too which reflects in the Placement Statistics of this College.
